Bottles made of PE or PP — From packaging to the finished decorated product

Bottles made from PE (polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) are the most versatile packaging solution on the market. Present in almost all sectors — cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, technical — they offer a unique combination of chemical resistance, lightness, and ease of shaping.

MAC2 offers a range sourced from a European industrial partner exclusively in the French, Spanish, and Swiss markets, with complete integration of decoration in the factory.

Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP): which material to choose?

PE Bottles (polyethylene)

Polyethylene is the reference material for flexible bottles. Its natural flexibility facilitates dosage by compression, it withstands many cosmetic actives and has excellent blow molding suitability. HDPE (high density) offers increased rigidity, while LDPE (low density) is suitable for squeeze bottles.

Applications: shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, lotions, household products, industrial liquids.

PP Bottles (polypropylene)

Polypropylene stands out for its resistance to heat and chemical agents. Rigid and lightweight, it is particularly suited for pharmaceutical products and packaging that require sterilization.

Applications: syrups, liquid pharmaceuticals, technical cosmetics, food products.

Manufacturing: Extrusion Blow Molding

This is the most common process for PE bottles. It allows for various shapes and volumes ranging from 20 ml to 1,000 ml. Our partner has excellent knowledge of metal transformation and treatment, and the mold manufacturing is integrated.

A decoration workshop integrated into the factory

Our manufacturing partner has made the strategic choice to directly integrate a decoration workshop into its production facility. This vertical organization presents tangible advantages for you:

Cost Reduction

By eliminating the transport of bare bottles to a subcontractor decorator, logistical costs and breakage risks are eliminated. Decoration is included in the manufacturing price.

Shortened Lead-times

Decoration follows immediately after production without any transport delay. Your time-to-market is accelerated. Additionally, from mold design (integrated), adjustments and creations are facilitated and very quick.

Centralized Quality Control

One person responsible for both manufacturing and decoration ensures perfect consistency between the container and its decoration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What packaging developers ask us about PE and PP bottles.

PE (polyethylene) is flexible and ideal for compression dosing: shampoos, shower gels, lotions. PP (polypropylene) is rigid, heat-resistant, and chemical-resistant, suitable for pharmaceutical products, syrups, and packaging requiring sterilization.

Yes. Direct screen printing (1 to multiple colors) and hot stamping (gold, silver, colored metallic films) can be applied to both clear and opaque bottles. Decoration is done in-house at the manufacturer’s integrated workshop.

Yes. The molds are produced in one of the group’s units, which allows for quick turnaround and takes into account the known characteristics of blowing machines. Time savings and cost reductions are achieved.

The in-house decoration workshop at the factory eliminates transport to a subcontractor: decoration immediately follows production, which shortens lead times and accelerates your time-to-market. The specific lead time is confirmed within 48 working hours after project review.
